  • 1 Big Sustainable Island

Ladies It's time to gather and collectively share the Wisdom of the Earth!

This retreat takes place on One Big Sustainable Island in Monmouth, Maine where the Island is a metaphor for our global community. Join a gathering of women who are ready to set their directionals to the stars and expand exponentially into the next phase of their being and service on this planet.

Mythic & Mapping

Prepare & Physical

Attune & Awaken

Source & Star

Spirit & Stepping In

Travel: We will travel about 2 miles or less by canoe to "the Ancient Island" where we will sleep close to the earth beneath the stars. The Island is a 14 acre island located on a lake in Monmouth, Maine. It will serve as our piece of earth for deep healing, connection and teachings.

Each time I visit the island, I have a renewed sense of peace and wonder. The Island has amazing energy in itself..and we are welcome to explore the hiking trails, swim, and jump off the rope swing if we so desire.

More importantly this is about slowing down.
To listen.
To connect with your spirit.
To connect with the earth.
To enjoy the world of vibration and ancient teachings in community.

We will cook our meals directly on the campfire, living in our small community over the weekend.

We will begin the day with simple practices to ease the mind and gracefully step into the beauty of the day. Breathing, movement meditation, and simple practices that help bring us to stillness so we can better hear the messages that come from the inner core essence of who we are and the messages the earth has to share with us at this time.

Learn to access the earth's energy for healing and helping you to clarify your direction. Learn rituals and practices that you can bring home to continue to deepen your connection.

Take some time to live simply, to bring stillness to your life and ease to your mind, to clarify your truth and joy, and to breathe life into your dreams.

Take the time to remember who you really are.

Jaclyn had to re-establish her deep connection with the earth, her focus on health, well being, and ultimately her own truth. Jaclyn believes that in living simply and close to the earth, our true selves are remembered and brought to light.

Gila Wilderness Backpacking, Ancient Sites & Natural Hot Springs

This trip will include 4 days and 2 nights in the back country. We will pack lightly, carrying our own backpacks and make the beautiful trek up through the canyon on the trail. We will be immersed in the amazing cliff walls on each side, the pine, juniper, and sycamore trees, and the wild rivers of this ancient wilderness area. We will walk by dwellings from a culture that disappeared leaving behind only traces of their existence here with shards of beautiful pottery. We will set up our backcountry camp near the natural hot springs and relax in this wilderness setting... a retreat for body, mind, and spirit.

Fall Foliage Canoe & Nature Retreat, A Journey Inward

October 2015

"I had the pleasure of attending one of Jaclyn Ouillette’s Wilderness Wisdom Journeys on One Big Sustainable Island in the wilds of Maine and I have enjoyed immediate blessings since! She guided us with subtle gentleness throughout the weekend working masterfully with the ebb and flow of the group. We began with a sacred stone circle where Jaclyn guided us to let go and ask questions of ourselves. This helped us open to receive the answers that would unfold with clarity at the end of our journey. We sat in sacred fire, building our dreams into the setting sun. We journeyed to the stars guided by Jaclyn’s words, tuning forks, and crystal singing bowls under a canopy of trees. We ate breakfasts by the fireside and swam in the brisk autumn waters of the Ancient Island, rooting ourselves into the very being of the Earth. She held space gracefully for the group allowing us to fall back into our own light, finding our inner compass. Every breath was an opening for deeper understanding, every walk down a path was filled with the whispers of spirit. Thank you Wilderness Wisdom Journeys! Forever changed~"

Winter Reflections Women's Weekend Retreat February 2016

“Jaclyn is one of my favorite teachers. I have worked with her a lot in the past 3 years and have learned so much from her. She brings a deep sense of the sacred with unquestionable respect and honor of the traditions she has learned from. While she holds the energy of a group in a very thoughtful and serious presence, she also has one of the most amazing knacks for keeping things light and fun and silly. Jaclyn easily lights up the room with her humor and incredible glow of spirit and makes new community feel comfortable and safe, in what are sometimes unchartered territories for people. Jaclyn’s resonance with the Earth is easily felt and grounded in all her work, and the earth has a funny way of registering it’s own teachings while being held by Jaclyn. During the last Wilderness Women’s Retreat, I was able to come to understand some places of resistance in myself better. I could see more clearly some things that I am working to accept about myself and was given some new tools to explore those places more and inspired to try incorporating them into my everyday life. My experience at the sauna and plunging into an ice cold stream held by the forest was perhaps my most awakening moment. Everything suddenly seemed to be so acutely alive and radiating under a whole new vibration! I could acutely feel my fears, my love, my voice, my courage to be barefoot in the snow! And to share this with a partnership of other sisters created a safe space to do this. Over the course of the weekend this group of women was able to quickly create a friendly cozy little community that supported each other with ease and fun. The setting was perfect, off grid in an eco-conscious little retreat center, nestled in little cabins and yurts in a mountainside, with a roaring brook nearby and an easy hike to some beautiful views!” -Tiff

"What an amazing retreat we had on the Ancient Island! Thank you Jaclyn Ouillette, for your wisdom, your work and your gentle ways. Thank you to all the participants for being present! Thank you to all the animals that blessed us with their grace! Thank you to the Sun for the Light, and the Rain for the clearing! Thank you to Mother Earth for holding us! We are richly blessed ~~"

The Island Retreat, A Maine Wilderness Wisdom Journey July 2015

"The Island retreat was magical! The feeling of being out in nature, close to the ground, open to the sky -- yet perfectly safe and contained. For me this was a rare moment, when I could let down the guard and allow for deep healing to happen. I left with a feeling of overwhelming gratitude to the Island and its people: ancient and present."-Yelena Shvets

Take some time to live simply, to bring stillness to your life and ease to your mind, to clarify your truth and joy, and to breathe life into your dreams. Take the time to remember who you really are.

"One day I was really mad about something..something someone else had said to me. I went for a jog over a small mountain to work it out, to ease my mind..the mosquitoes were thick through the damp forest of the early morning. I ran hard, then slowed only to be eaten alive, so I had to keep moving. The blackfly bites were bleeding around my ankles.. I kept moving through the thick and humid air towards the ocean. It felt like torture, and there was nothing I could do but keep moving.

So I ran as hard as I could...and probably ate a thousand bugs....racing to the sandy beach. They didn't follow me out of the forest....and I was so happy to dig my bare toes into the sand..the tide had recently changed and was moving back out to sea, but it left the sandy earth damp. And with the heat of the day, the water was evaporating into a thick mist and the sun glowed majestically through this foggy cloud.

I made my way to a circle created by the ancient bed rock. I lay down..feeling the hard, wet, sand on my back and I began to sing a favorite chant... I sang to the sun, to the moon, to the earth, and to the universe, and I sang to my soul, and its place in this universe. I could feel my teeth begin to vibrate, and then my back on the sand...my body began to buzz all over.. and I was vibrating with the earth around me. I stopped chanting and the vibration continued.. I could see it, and I could feel it...I could hear the vibration of the each tiny grain of sand, and each rock.. I could hear the song of the mist and the sun shining through it. I could hear the song of the earth and I could feel it, it was me, and I were it.. together, and I enjoyed this moment for what seemed like only minutes.. but hours later, with wonder, awe, and a sense of renewal and a deeper connection to who I really I am, I walked back over the mountain and through the woods...."

All I had to do was slow down and remember......
