Wild Inspirations, A peek into the Life and Perspectives of Jaclyn Amanda

Hello, my name is Jaclyn. I am a Mainer. I grew up in Yarmouth, Maine and have travelled quite far exploring the world, yet I always return to my beautiful home state of Maine. I love running the beaches on the ocean’s edge, hiking the rocky trails, swimming in the cold lakes, and enjoying time with my family here. My family has lived in Maine for several generations, and before that most of my family were living in north eastern Canada.

Sometimes a moment grabs my attention in the middle of a trail run. The landscape captures my breath and my attention and I stop abruptly to absorb the moment. At times I will snap an image of what caught my attention in nature and then share what wisdom I glean from those wild places. On social media those get scrolled by and buried over time, so I am beginning this blog here on my website as a way to share my journeys and insights into this incredible life on this planet. It is intended to be a nature journal of sorts. Thoughts, images, and reflections to inspire a greater life for all.

I enjoy writing about and sharing my life experiences. I worked professionally as a Wilderness Guide after college, however a run with neurologic Lyme Disease when I was 26 years old drastically changed the my life. I have just published a book on my early life in nature and my wilderness guiding experiences which came to a screeching halt when I contracted Lyme disease. I share my subsequent journey through one of the toughest 7 years of my life. My book is called “It’s In Your Dreams” and can be found on my website here.

I’m deeply inspired by the wilderness and nature and how it speaks, how the information reflects back to me so I can better understand myself in this universe. I look forward to sharing this with you.

Thank you for being here and please stay tuned for more to come…
